How Does the K9 Work Out Its Location?
GPS stands for Global Positioning System. A GPS receiver uses signals from satellites to estimate its position. On the K9, GPS is part of a five-fold positioning system that also includes Wi-Fi, LBS, A-GPS and an accelerometer.
These methods help the watch estimate its location in different conditions. Wi-Fi positioning uses nearby network information, LBS uses mobile-network information, and A-GPS assists GPS positioning. Not every position shown in the app is a precise satellite GPS fix.
The watch uses network connectivity to send location information to the LAGENIO parent app. Receiving positioning signals and transmitting the result to your phone are separate parts of the process.
How Accurate Is the Location?
The K9's reference figures are approximately 10 metres for GPS, 450 metres for Wi-Fi positioning and 550 metres for LBS positioning. These are indicative figures, not guaranteed distances for every location check.
Accuracy depends on signal conditions, surroundings and the positioning method available. Indoors, around buildings or in areas with weak signals, the displayed position may be less precise. A map marker should be treated as an estimate, not confirmation of an exact building, room or a child's safety.

You can check the location information available for the paired watch in LAGENIO. Do not assume the map provides uninterrupted live movement or updates at a guaranteed interval.
Safe Zones
Safe Zones let you configure boundaries around places such as home or school and receive entry or exit notifications. Treat these as an additional tool rather than guaranteed immediate alerts. Continue using agreed check-in routines with your child.
Location History
Location history lets you review recorded location information. Like individual location checks, it should be interpreted with the positioning system's accuracy and connectivity limits in mind.
Location During Class Mode
Location remains active during Class Mode, even though calls and games are disabled during configured periods. Power and connectivity requirements still apply. Always follow your school's device policy.
What Can Interrupt Location Checking?
The watch cannot provide a new location when it is switched off or has no network connection. Weak mobile coverage, depleted SIM credit or data, and signal conditions can affect whether location information reaches the app.
Reserve Battery Mode can also interrupt location functions. Keep the watch charged and make checking the SIM service part of your regular routine.
